  Mike Reno

   Mike Reno was born in Royston, Georgia on January 26, 1975. Growing up, he loved what any young man in Georgia loved (at least in the late 1980's): Heavy metal music, mullets, and having fun. In 1991, Mike suffered a car accident that caused serious problems. He was in a full coma for four months, and then a partial coma for four more, able only to open his eyes. The tracheotomy from this time has caused serious problems for his speech. Mike is unable to walk, no longer able to use his right hand, and has problems with his left. After more than a year in the hospital, Mike was shuffled between several nursing homes, where he lived for nearly a decade.

   Despite these tremendous challeges, Mike is now able to live a rich & satisfying life in normal society. He still loves bands like Poison, AC/DC & Megadeth. Mike collects knives, loves to exercise, and is passionte about art. As our longest resident, Mike has helped Our Neighbor at least as much as we've helped him, and his amazingly bright outlook is a constant inspiration.
