Our Neighbor
When Marty and Randy Owens came up with the idea of a home for handicapped young adults five years ago, they had no idea where this concept would lead them -- nor the lengths that they would go to, or the support they would recieve, to make it a reality.
Our Neighbor is an innovative approach to caring for our neighbors with physical challenges. Young adults who live their lives with the constant challenge of physical limitations often feel lonely and excluded. Their intelligence and talents need to be in the mainstream life. Their desire to be accepted for who they are can sometimes be overlooked, ignored or misunderstood. Many people tend to see the physical limitations and fail to see the person inside. Our Park St. Residence is a two bedroom, one bath house with roll-in shower; it is completely accessible, and is currently at capacity with three residents.

Terrie's House provides a residence for three different members of ONI, with two bedrooms upstairs and a basement apartment. All are handicapped-accessable in every respect.
